One such organisation that is housed in Addison Road Centre is the Addison Road Child Care Centre.
It is a non profit council that runs long day care centre for children up to five years of age. It is operative Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 6 pm. The centre houses twenty different cultural groups of children who belong to families enrolled with the centre. These children often speak different languages as their first language. For this purpose the centre has appropriately trained bilingual staff to ensure that the needs of each child are met properly. In addition to encouraging children to maintain their home language, programmes are designed in such a way that the children also become fluent with using English language. They hold regular cultural events for the benefit of each cultural group and engage the children in art activities pertaining to their own culture.
